Blodwen’s New Life

After some research, Martin found out that Blodwen had been purchased by Mr Ken Thompson. He immediately wrote to him and was very pleased to receive the following reply.

I am the owner of CFN121. I purchased the bus in 2003 ,we prepared the bus for a C.O.F and a class 6 M.O.T this is the requirement to use a bus to carry fare paying passengers. After a 4 hour test by 2 certifying offices CFN passed with flying colours, it passed all m.o.t with out any faults to date. We have done a large amount of work on the bus including a compete interior re trim with all new wood work, new timbers fitted to body and windows. We have just had a full re paint in East Kent livery. CFN works hard for us completing over 400 jobs these include weddings, birthdays, schools and running days at Lincoln and Santoft. Please contact me if you need any othe information on CFN 121

Regards Ken

Thank you for your interest.

Although Blodwen is now 62 years of age, she has no intention of retiring. In fact she has been totally rejuvenated and looks younger and more beautiful than ever. As a result Blodwen is now the best of her type in the UK. Martin then wrote to tell Peter and Barry to give them an update of Blodwen. Consequently, Peter and his friend Tony Clayton went to Mattersey and had a wonderful time with Ken Thompson, the new owner who was so willing to give of his time and took Peter and Tony for a drive in the bus. I’m sure that Ken too was very interested in Peter’s account of how well Blodwen had served us in London for many years and how the Grangers had grown to love and appreciate her.

We are grateful to Peter Haughey who went to see Blodwen now located in Mattersey, Nottingham. He kindly took all these photos and more and sent them to us via email. It’s really great to have this interesting update on much loved Blodwen.

Windyridge, Mike and Tricia Benge's new home, has an entry on the Grange Fellowship Interactive web site. Mike and Tricia recently had a small house party of invited guests which in a round about way also included something of Mel Fitton's 60th birthday party, although we still await photos of the latter.
